Student Comments on their USA Trip

Chloé Bulteau
“Je suis très contente d’être aux USA et de faire partie du programme”
I am really glad to be in America. Everything is so different but it is very great. People here are smiley and friendly. Foreign students are very well welcomed. My penpal is really great, we have a lot of points in common and her family is really sweet. I am going to ENJOY this trip.

“Déjà, je n’ai plus envie de partir”
I am really excited to be in America. My penpal and her family are very nice with me, every evening we talk together about our day, and I show them the pictures of the day. I already don’t want to leave America.

Je suis très contente d’être ici et je n’oublierai jamais ce voyage!
The main difference between Classen and Luzarches is that people can do art work on the walls, there are decorations everywhere. Moreover, students are allowed to eat, drink and use their phones in class, it is much less strict and much more colorful. Here everyone is very nice with us, even if they don’t know us.
Merci pour votre accueil!

“Tout le monde ici est amicable”
The people here are very nice and friendly, I’m really glad to be here. Concerning the high school, I find it very different to Luzarches, for example in the students’ way of behaving in class. Maybe sometimes I think lessons are too long, but yesterday I went to Mariel’s theatre class and it was great fun! Today I went to Art with Marie and Michelle, and it was amazing for me to see how some students were excellent in painting or drawing. I really, really love Classen.

“J’adore OKC”
I really love OKC ! I came last year and people are always very friendly. Classen SAS is even better than last year because of the works in the school during vacations (new classrooms, new paintings…).
I love the food (steakhouse, IHOP Pancakes, Mexican food) and I’m very excited when I see all the food my host mother is preparing for Thanksgiving!

“Thanksgiving a l’air d’être un évenement incroyable!”
I really love Oklahoma City. Everything is amazing! Classen SAS is really big. It’s entirely different compared to our school. There is food everywhere! My host family is very friendly. Thanksgiving looks like an awesome event.

“Tout est plus grand qu’en France”
My first impression when I arrived in Oklahoma was that everything is so big and different to France. I was very surprised by all the fast food around the roads, all the huge and wealthiest houses here. However, in Classen, everybody is so nice, people consider you as friends when you meet them for the first time. We already went to different shops between French and American students. I have a very good impression of this trip and I'd stay if I could.

“L’atmosphère est plus cool..”
We have only been here for three days but we already love America. Everyone is nice, the school is very different to our French school, in fact the atmosphere is much more relaxed. Everything is exactly like in movies, such as buses, school with lockers, food, big cars and many other things. The Americans are very generous and friendly with us. Everything is bigger than in France. And it is going to be one of the most beautiful experiences of our lives.

“Le temps est magnifique”
The first thing to, figuratively and literally, hit me when we got off the plane in the USA was the wonderful weather which only got better, even at this time of the year. Also, Americans are what you might call ‘cooler’ than most French people in many ways. For example, how and where they eat, as a family or not. I am already loving Oklahoma and its citizens and I hope to stay here for as long as possible.

J’adore ce pays et j’aimerais y rester longtemps
I find Oklahoma very sunny, windy and flat. People are very nice and the atmosphere is much more relaxed than in France. The high school is totally different than the French ones. There are classes that we do not have such as art, music, and dance. I always eat in front of the TV so it is so different than in France. I want to stay a long time there because I love this country.

Les élèves se connaissent tous.
My first days at Classen were really good. I thought that the house was enormous and the first day, I kept going into the wrong corridor that led to my room. When I finally got to it, I found that it had its own bathroom and plasma TV. I was also surprised that in the morning Americans ate salty food. The students are also all very close to each other.
