Greetings from Agnès
So this has been the fourth day in the USA and for now everything is just
perfect ! Today we went to school and I got French class for 3 hours but I
think the Americans only speak like 5 minutes in French during these classes.
This surprised me because in French if it had been that way the teacher would
have got mad ! Then this afternoon we went to the Art Museum which was very
interesting and full of beautiful pieces of art. Then this evening most of them
met in a Mexican restaurant and ate tacos. For most of the Europeans (if it
isn't for all) it was the first time !!! It was, as the whole day, a very nice
moment because French and American were mixed and both were talking to each
other !!!

Second School Day
Today, after school and the art museum, many of us french went to eat tex-mex, they served 1$ tacos and it was a really interesting experience!
Here the food is so cheap and they have huge quantities! Americans have strange eating habits, they eat very unhealthy. But it's cultural, food is cheaper but so is everything else. Everything is also a lot bigger: the cars, the roads, the houses, the school. They have 1000 students like Luzarches but it is much bigger! And the Americans have lockers. But the food in the cafeteria is not very good, a lot of kids bring their lunch. Americans students are a lot more free, they can do a lot of fun things n class and the teacher doesn't really care most of the time. They don't do much in class, it's a lot less stressful than in France but some people take harder classes so they can get ready for good universities.
Classen is very artistic though, a lot of students take many artistic classes: they have dancing, music, photography, art, drama, choir,... It's really a very nice school to be in and American people are very friendly> I am really enjoying my stay and I wish I could stay longer!
They loved it!!!

ON A NEW CONTINENT by Adrien J
Our first day of school in Oklahoma was a really strange experience for some of us, the French.
It was so different from Luzarches! Teachers do not care about our attitudes in class, about our chatting, about the phones which are ringing... Just in order to shock the French scientific students, the math teacher gave us a paper and left us for more than one hour, and we corrected that in five minutes, at the end, after seventy minutes of chatting!
America is really exciting and interesting for its culture, its "melting pot" for example is incredible! In fact there is a fabulous Chinese, Vietnamese population. For the anecdote, they called them: ABC (American Born Chinese! )
That was my main impression of America for these first days, and I hope the rest of the two weeks will be even better!!!

Our first two days in Oklahoma
We finally arrived in the USA after a long flight of 12 hours. We changed planes in Newark, where we literally ran so we wouldn't miss the plane! At Oklahoma's airport, our American correspondants waited for us, all excited. They were waving pancards and screaming... I felt like a celebrity with fans waiting for me! Fariha and her family was waiting for me with flowers. At first I tried to kiss them on the cheeks, like French people do, but they didn't expect that at all! Actually, Americans hug!
The first thing I did was to go to a Bengali party, wearing indian costumes! Adele came too, with her correspondant, Fabiana. We met their families, their friends, and their friends' families. It was a very big party for a one year old! We ate Chinese food and cake with a lot of icing, as usual.
The next day, we all went to Mimi's Cafe for breakfast. Me and Rizlene couldn't finish at all what we ordered, because everything in USA is just too big! Her muffin was huge! After that we went to the mall but the only thing that I bought was candy. I tried my first Resse's Cup, which is chocolate with peanut butter, and it was amazing!
Today we finally visited the Classen High School, and it was so... American! They had lockers just like in the movies, and there were drawings on the walls. We had a little tour of the school and we were all amazed how Americans go to school only to take Relaxation class (which was basically sleeping on the floor), Dance and Sculpture lessons! And in class they are very free to just get up and go talk to their friends!
After class we went to the History Centre. It was so entertaining!I liked the most the part where they rebuilt a typical American house from the past.
So long, Oklahoma was a very welcoming city, and the next two weeks look promising.

First days in the USA
Here we are finally in the USA!
We spent our first day with the family at sunday and had our first day of school.
After a boring travel by plane and a good night we had our first day with the families.
In the morning most of the american and french people concerned by the exchanged went to "Mimi's"restaurant to had a breakfast all together. Then I went with Marcus to a soccer game in which he played and of course they won! After the game we went to an aquarium because it was on the road to go home. So it as a very entertaining day and I had a lot of fun.
Monday was our first day of school in the USA. We arrived at 7h30, we visited Classen and discovered the american way of teaching. In the afternoon, we all went to a museum about the history of Oklahoma and it was very interesting we also had fun because one more time we were all together!
To conclude, this american trip is starting well and I'm sure it will continue this way!
First day at school - Louise Phung
Well, I wanted to write something and I erased it, so I'm re-writing it but shorter.
I just want to say that I really enjoyed this first day, very interesting. I went in drama lesson, for the first time in my life and I liked it. I was suprised too because American attitude in class is very different from ours. it was quite funny to see people bringing cakes they made last night and giving to other, that is so cool ! The last thing I wanted to say it's that I'm sorry to say that's the French cafeteria is better than the American one but it's not as bad as Americans told us last year. My salad was quite good ( cool story bore will say Romain, I know ;) ).

Hopefully the weather will be good enough for us to do everything we've planned. We are so excited about the trip and are sure that Thanksgiving is going to be awesome. We know the exchange will be the trip of a lifetime, but please don't forget to meet us at the airport!
