Claire Henocq and her Thanksgiving Break
During Thanksgiving break I was able to discover a lot about American culture. We celebrated Thanksgiving with a few friends of the family, it was a good gathering. Before the meal someone had to cut the traditional turkey and I'm the one who did it! Then everyone took their neighbor's hand and the mother said a prayer, it showed that lots of Americans are religious whereas in France we don't really pay attention to this.
On Black Friday we met friends and went shopping. Some shops were open on Thursday night so we shopped until midnight and woke up at 7 am on Friday to shop some more. It was a really good time, I had a lot of fun.

Arthur Petit enjoys his Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was really diverse for me. Attending three kinds of party was actually really interesting. First I went to one of my host's friends. They call it Friendsgiving. Basically they gathered between young people to have fun and play games. However, the real Thanksgiving was different. For lunch we went to a typical white American Thanksgiving where we ate a lot. I would say, though, that my favorite one was for dinner. My family welcomed not less than 70 persons from their family and friends. This huge party was a real great time of sharing where people met each other again after a long time. I mainly stayed with young persons but meeting so many Americans was really pleasing. I've never seen so much food in my life, I could not even taste everything. This friendly atmosphere was really different from French celebrations. Once more, the US is so very different. In one word I would describe my Thanksgiving as intriguing.

Yanis Martinet and his Thanksgiving Day
I
discovered Thanksgiving with a German exchange student, and we both loved the
idea of sharing which is brought by this celebration that does not exist in
Europe. Moreover I ate a lot of dishes that are prepared for this day (my
favorites ones are the turkey and the cranberry sauce). My host family also did
an “After-Thanksgiving” which was on Friday, where I discovered even more food,
but from Chinese culture.
Thanksgiving - Emeline Bichet
Emeline : I
spent Thanksgiving with my host father’s family. We ate a typical Thanksgiving
lunch, composed of turkey, mash potatoes, vegetables and a pumpkin pie. After
that we watched movies. We woke up at midnight the following day to shop. I
spent plenty of time with my host family and their friends for the weekend, and
we went to a Thunder game on Sunday evening. It was an amazing experience !
Thanksgiving - Cassandre Caballero
I spent
Thanksgiving with my correspondent’s parents and grandparents. I ate some
turkey which was really good. We ate some vegetables and mash potatoes. By the
end I was so full that I was unable to eat some pumpkin pie. The grandparents
asked me many questions about France, its economy and its government. I woke up
at 5am to do the Black Friday at the Mall, where I bought too much. I came back
home at 1pm and watched TV for the entire afternoon because I was exhausted.
Thanksgiving - Pierre Odiaux
Impressions of Thanksgiving - Camille DOREMUS
Because my host family is the one that everybody wants
to have, and because Amy (our host mother) is a great cook and planner, Bryan
(our host father + the lookalike of Clint Eastwood) is an epicurean and Arden
the cutest and kindest girl, our Thanksgiving was the greatest one! My belly
has never been that full, and the atmosphere was similar to Christmas’ one:
songs, family and good food! I really enjoyed this time of sharing with my
family. Wink wink, Shoshone that I really like even if he is a huge sniffer!
Thanks for all!
Thanksgiving - Laura Caussin
Pour Thanksgiving, ma famille m'a emmené au Texas, dans une
ville proche de Dallas (state capital).
