For Thanksgiving, pupils have a break of 3 days + weekend in order to celebrate it. This gave us the opportunity to have an in depth experience of the family life in USA. On Thanksgiving morning, everybody met at Fahina's house. All the girls (including me and Adele) started cooking the Thanksgiving meal, which ended up on a huge table, beautifully decorated. I ate like never before, and I tried everything: Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, Pumpkin cupcakes! The thing that surprised me was that we never held hands and prayed or said what we're thankful for; we just jumped on the food.
Just after Thanksgiving we hurried up to bed, and after a few hours of sleep we woke up and went to the mall, at 4 a.m.! This was still reasonable, there were some people who didn't sleep at all and came from 10 p.m.. Black Friday, the big, crazy shopping day of the year, turned out to be pretty calm. The mall wasn't as crowded as in the pictures on the internet, not even close! We went all morning in shops and there were some very good deals, but I didn't buy anything at all! I know, shocking! I think I was too tired... However we went the day after that to another mall where I bought many things, especially from Abercrombie&Fitch! Today we'll go again to an outlet mall, and I heard from Rizlene that it's the place where you have to spend all your money!
After Black Friday we went to Amanda's party, and the Americans were shocked when they saw that French (and Romanian) people are party animals!
I hope I can put some pictures soon, to show how amazing it is around here!
